Monday May 18, 3:36 pm Eastern Time Ortec names Schaeffer to new COO position NEW YORK-, May 18 (Reuters) - Ortec International Inc. said Monday it appointed William Schaeffer to the new position of chief operating officer. Schaeffer has more than 25 years of experience at Johnson & Johnson (JNJ - news) and its affiliated companies in the startup, process development, manufacturing, and quality assurance of medical devices. He was most recently at Cordis Corp. where he was vice president of Quality Assurance Worldwide and was a member of the company's management board. At Ortec, Schaeffer will be directly responsible for implementing Ortec's business plan and coordinating its research and development efforts, clinical trials, regulatory activities and manufacturing scale up, the biotechnology medical company said in a statement.
