I'm pleased to say that my first weekend out with my new Callaway driver was a huge success. I went down from a 10 degree driver to an 8 and added at least 20 yards to my drives. Did anyone see the clip of Ely Callaway discussing the potential USGA rule changes on the "trampoline" effect of most new drivers during ABC's coverage of this weekend's Bryon Nelson Classic? I thought the USGA guy who responded to Mr. Callaway's comments was smug and somewhat condescending to put it mildly. Does anyone believe that Callaway, or any other company with something at stake here, will sue the USGA to stop any changes? ABC's announcer, whose name I can't think of, stated that the USGA has never lost an "equipment" lawsuit, but didn't elaborate or mention any specifics.
