Game publisher Interplay Entertainment has filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in preparation for a public offering. Interplay is proposing an IPO of 6.25 million shares of common stock. Piper Jaffray, Bear Stearns, and UBS Securities are the managing underwriters for the offer. Interplay is one of the top 10 game publishers, according to sales figures from PC Data, in Reston, Va., and also has a successful original equipment manufacturer division.
