Yeah, and my understanding is that options aren't even included in wage inflation numbers. If they were, what would those rosy inflation numbers look like ? Now that many companies give options to 100% of their employees, its not just an executive issue. Ask any silicon valley employee if they consider options an important part of their compensation. If this market ever goes down again, what do those employees demand for equivalent compensation ? Probably hard cash. How many cars, houses, etc. are already paid for with unexercised, unvested option that could dry up ?
