This is simply mere speculation........

Prediction:

1998 Comdex will feature the 200 Meg Zip Drive......It will take the place of Zip+ at a slightly higher price....$199.99. It will be able to read old 100 Meg Zip disks. Media probably $15.99.
I believe that Zip+ was a new product brought to consumers so as to "setup" the market for the eventual 200Meg drive, if ever needed to combat Sony.
They (IOM) have milked the higher margins of Zip+ and will be able to call the new 200 Meg disk the "Zip+2" or "Zip2" but its an uprade of Zip+. It will have the same software and concections. This way you don't bastardize the original 100Meg Zip. It will be an additional product, seperate and disticnt from Zip 100 Meg. I don't believe the demand for 200 Meg disks is there right now. ( that's a whole other post though:)).

The only issue that will remain is the compatabilty issue which I believe doesn't even exist ....look at LS120 market penetration--- ZERO!!!

BTW I have been told by IR and will re-verify with IR tomm that the Compaq,Iomega Infocus... Projector/Handheld CE computer thing will have an INTERNAL Clik drive built into the COMPAQ!!!!! Handheld.

Noticed the appointment of Mr. Barter , from Allied Signal(again), to the BOD...hey the current interim CEO came from the BOD and previously from Allied Signal.....it could happen again.
