Wow, quite a story! Corruption and crime are abundant in Eastern
Europe, especially in Russia. The shareholder's rights are vague.
Ponzi schemes are not rare in Russia nowadays. In fact, in 1992
there were lots of them, the most famous being MMM. That's why
I prefer US-managed mutual fund (enough diversification to
avoid these things, but not the market collapse) to ADRs. -Vi
