Don't think it will jumpstart the Wintel product cycle. I think most people just won't be able to justify a 1.1 GHZ chip. Only graphics, and engineering types will go for these on a personal basis. Of course business will utilize them for servers but business will also go for the sub $1000 boxes with 400 MHZ chips and crappy works. For the average office worker that's overkill.

Since Macs now support Open GL they should continue to attract customers willing to spend $2K and up because the speed will repay the cost. And the iMac will attract customers who have heard the nightmare Wintel stories and don't need a complex expandable machine.

Rhapsody should attract UNIX software developers to the platform. So it still looks good there.

I'm still worried about what they are going to do about the high end stuff. I want my 100mhz bus and my 6 bays, whah.
