Does anybody think that the new Lam/Novellus joint effort on copper means that Novellus is unlikely to acquire Speedfam?

Recall that Lam is developing a CMP tool. It just seems unlikely to me that Lam would get hitched up with Novellus in providing a complete copper solution if in the future it would entail competing with Novellus in copper CMP.
