Java is clearly an area where the market "has a choice"! I agree with your assessment that any vendor supporting any "proprietary version" should receive "zero" support. Hopefully Del is sharper than that! I am firmly convinced that the best resolution to this entire monopoly issue is with the consumer. Users have been complaining about compatibility issues and conversion costs forever. Java goes along way to solving that, and will only get better--unless users and vendors assist in the fracturing/death of the initiative. Gut check time. The power of the purse!
