Brian,

wonder if this is related to the CDMA launch. Seems a little early for something that is scheduled for April 99.

TOKYO (Nikkei)-DDI Corp. (9433) and Nippon Idou Tsushin Corp.
(IDO) said Monday they would offer an Internet service for cellular
phone users, allowing them to use e-mail and obtain news and other
information, starting in April 1999.

DDI also plans to offer the text-only service on its PHS (personal
handy phone system) network.

The new wireless Internet and e-mail service requires a cellular phone
with a liquid crystal display and uses the Server Suite technology
developed by Unwired Planet Inc., a U.S. firm.

Unwired Planet's wireless Internet technology is compatible with the
Wireless Application Protocol, which is emerging as a worldwide
standard for data transmission.
