I was not allowed to sell my Dell-calls over the internet!

I wrote an angry mail to Dreyfus and got this answer:

"Dear Client,

Due to the exchange restrictions and Dells volatility, Dell options can no longer be placed via the internet.ÿ You can call Dell option orders to a broker or not place them at all that is up to you.

Dreyfus Brokerage Services"

Does anybody have some knowledge why, how long and related to which options such rules are valid? For me as non-US-resident it's nearly impossible to handle my trades calling a US-broker?

There are problems like (spooken) communication in a foreign language, connection-problems and -fees, uncertainity about reactions, executions and - last not least - a very bad acceptance of foreign people by US-business-executives. (see this Dreyfus-message - Eric Clapton would have shot this guy...)

So every opinion, information or help to these questions would be very welcome.

Who has made the same or similar experience with other brokers?

Jury
