Hello Robert,

From a post of yours back about 20--"It is not what one does that makes one a sinner, it is what we are at birth, that makes us such."

Within that quote lies the warped conclusion of bible believers that causes me the most revulsion.

You are saying: a new-born baby is evil & has to strive to do better for the remainer of his/her life.

This is baloney of the highest order. A baby is the only perfect human alive. It is a blank page. Parents(or parent substitutes) have the obligation to keep that page printed with the best input humans can muster.

Continually pummeling that sensitive child with messages of unworthiness is destructive.

Loving discipline is necessary. Smiles & laughter accomplish this in a much more effective way than sanctimonious sermons.

Keep it simple. Teach a child to love her/his fellow humans and to treat them the same way she/he wishes to be treated. The good results parents want to accomplish will automatically follow. We'll then have happy, productive human beings instead of confused, bible passage ruminators.
