The annual report discusses that many of the directors had options that were exercisable on April 24, 1998 or within 60 days of that date. Could some of the recent selling pressure been these guys unloading those shares?

As you said, it looks like they HAD to sell these shares somewhere around now. The total of shares was over 3.5 million.
