Jfred, as usual, two points. Your fondness for learning from picture captions in popular books for bright children is very touching indeed. Grown ups, however, have their own books, which some of them even read. Since you started to talk about cultural aspects of Greeks, and Doric, Ionic and Corinthian are the recognized artistic styles of the periods I posted, how was i supposed to guess that you suddenly started to talk about prehistoric tribes?
>>If you don't think that geography is part of the calculus then it is because you aren't as well informed about Greek history as you give yourself credit for. >> Like you say, and who are you to judge? I don't claim to be "well informed about greek history", just better than you, which does not make me know much. It would appear that it is you, not me, who likes to talk about things which he has very little idea about, and which he learnt cursorily from popular books and magazines. |
