Hi Ann !
>>>>>Loving discipline is necessary. Smiles & laughter accomplish this in a much more effective way than sanctimonious sermons.
Keep it simple. Teach a child to love her/his fellow humans and to treat them the same way she/he wishes to be treated. The good results parents want to accomplish will automatically follow. We'll then have happy, productive human beings instead of confused, bible passage ruminators.<<<<<<<
The 'problem' eerrrrrr..road block, I see with your "child is a clean slate perfect creature" thesis is look who disciplines, and teaches and loves them, we do right. Yes, the bible gives guidelines about the proper way to raise children; but is that what you think the bible is all about. I have two older children both college educated, productive, law abiders, loving parents, fun, fulfilled; I've been a Christian for 30 years, took them to church, and have a small child I am raising now, just like I raised the first two.
Forget the sermons, pummeling with messages of unworthiness; not my children! They are going to get enough of that from Christian bashers like you , tempters, takes a village to raise a child, systemic educators, common bond, do it our way or no way mentality .
To listen to you, you are the minority, aggrieved party, but I keep reminding myself the world would not hate me unless it first hated Christ. Looking at it from my side of the fence, I see hidden agendas, sneers, discrimination, lost opportunities, worldly disadvantages, collusion, conspiracy, bad taste, bad jokes, profane language, a world that takes God 's name in vain( ever wondered why the common phrase isn't Christ D***)( I'll tell you !! it's because the world hates GOD for sending Christ into the world) and the list goes.
I'll stop here.. you've already said you don't like sermons!!!!!! |
