The market value is what on the surface, the value is long term return from the investment.
How long will DELL be able to grow better than 25%/year? I do not know for sure. But I can say with confidence that PC sell in ten years will not be a much bigger business than home electronic sale now. SONY is a premium brand in the home electronic market. In addition, it also owns a movie studio, a theatre chain. It spends billions in R&D, awarded hundreds of patents each year. Do you think, DELL with a good inventory control (that the competitors will learn in no time), A fair brand name (of a semi-commodity product), is twice more valuable as SONY?
