Clarence-

I didn't find NT to be difficult, it's very similar to W95 in most respects. There is a password sign-on at boot-up, and it doesn't have quite as many features as W95, but seems much more stable. If you get a program not responding(hanging) you can Ctrl/Alt/Del and it brings up the system manager window, which allows you to quit that particular program. I haven't crashed NT yet, I don't think. W95 crashed regularly on me, had to cold boot often. I have a dual-boot setup, so I can go into W95 or NT, since there are programs that don't work in NT. One thing that is baffling is the number of files in various folders, most with obscure names, no telling if they are important or not. The file management in both W95 and NT is abominable. Nothing like a Mac, where you can drag folders around and drop files here or there. Doing that in Windows gets you in big trouble fast, with no clear way to find and fix the problem. Norton's Utilities is great for W95, but there is NO diagnostic program that I have found for NT. I find this unbelievable, but it seems to be true.
I believe MSFT is planning to release NT5 soon, and it's supposed to be more friendly from what I read.
Good luck with the transition. There are many people here that can help you through it. This thread is a great resource for all of us, and I thank zeuspaul for starting it, and also monitoring it.
