UPDATE / TALISMAN OPERATIONS CONTINUE IN INDONESIA

CALGARY, May 19 /CNW/ - Talisman Energy Inc. announced today that all of
its production and construction activities in Indonesia are continuing and
have not been affected by the recent events in the country. All operations
are located well away from urban centres and areas of unrest.
Following advice from the Canadian Embassy, Talisman has temporarily
evacuated all expatriate family members and most expatriate employees. In
common with other companies, Talisman is maintaining a small management group
in Indonesia in a safe area. The management group will provide support to
Talisman local Indonesian employees and joint venture partner Pertamina
(national Indonesian oil company) to ensure that the operations continue at a
high level of effectiveness.
''Our production and construction operations are continuing and we don't
expect them to be affected by the unrest,'' said Jim Buckee, President and
Chief Executive Officer.
