Mina Claudia) (NPEC) Mina Claudia property shows good assay results
again

Business Editors

VANCOUVER, British Columbia-- (Business Wire)-- Nov. 15, 1996--
NP Energy Corporation is pleased to announce that additional assay
results have been received from the 20% owned Mina Claudia mining
property, Chile.

Recent samples taken by Mr. Malcolm Fraser, geologist, from the
Manto Milagroso claim, part of the Mina Claudia Project, show
excelent copper mineralization with good gold and silver values.
The copper assays ran from a low 2.54% to a high of 9.12% with the
gold assays showing a low of 0.03 to a high of0.21 grams per metric
tonne. Silver values ranged from a low of 0.7 to a high of 52.8 grams
per tonne.

These samples compare very favorably with a recent large bulk
sample sent to the nearby Enami copper refinery. The bulk sample
material consisted of 23.27 metric tonnes and returned an average
grade of 2.13% copper. Gold and silver values were not reported for
the bulk sample.

Mr. Fraser noted that "the values of copper in the iron capping
are high but not out of line considering the amount of malachite
(green copper carbonate) present on the samples. The magnetite
capping which appears to represent the top of an alteration zone can be traced from the Manto Milagroso to the Mina Claudia (claim).
There appears to be an enrichment of copper below the capping but
further field work is necessary to verify these observations."
