Just had to say that I got a call anouncing that SUNW was splitting. Asked my friend who bought that day, to check ex div date. Told her that my formula says that the stock would be at its highest level, excluding insider movements before the announcement, 7 or 8 days prior to ex div date. Told her to call me with this date so that I could predict her potential exit. Ex div is on 11/18. price on 14th was $57, price on 7th was $64. Exactly the way its supposed to work. Accumulating, or buying an option, a day or two before the ex div date should be the low after all the insiders, speculators, dividend capturors, and option traders bail. No more volatility right on thru the split. There is certainly both a short and long term play here.
