Ltd's latest VCD player uses digital signal processing to provide a variety of karaoke musical effects such as echo, surround sound and vocal assist. The VCD-338 is equipped with an error-correction function which lets a user play discs of less-than-satisfactory quality. A Philips digital movement and a C-Cube decoder chip are the key components. Compatible formats include audio CD, VCD 1.1 or 2.0 and CD-I. The unit is compatible with PAL and NTSC TVs and an on-screen display can guide a user through the function menu.
