To All:
One of the claims in the DOJ complaint is as quoted below:

Taken from this reference:http://interactive.wsj.com/edition/resources/documents/mssuit0518-2.htm

"Internet browsers -- specialized software programs that allow PC users to locate, access, and display content and applications located on the web -- are essential for quick, easy, and efficient use of the web and have been instrumental in building the Internet's popularity. No other product duplicates or fully substitutes for their functionality."

This to me is critical and DOJ shoots itself in the foot with a lack of understanding of what the OS does for the CPU. What is said above can be said for a hard disk driver but instead of the net it is the hard disk that supplies the media. The same can be said of a LAN. The same can be said for a scanner. The same can be said for an OCR and so forth. An OS is a kernel to which is appended various small applications that gather and disseminate data. The browser is no more and no less it connects the cpu to an outside source of data.

This suit is such a load of cow chips.
