Folks, I am a repub, a died in the wool conservative but, for first time in my 50 long years, I am having trouble and it isn't just because this deal is causing red marks on my computer screen. As I mentioned in a previous post, the book Spin Control makes a good case for how uniterested the press is in news but how interested it is in sensationalism and scandal. I thought that is why God created the National Enquirer. Most of us on this board have learned a fair amount about launches, communication satellites, deals with China, India, Brazil, etc., but when I see respected reporters and analysts relate to this issue without a tenth of the knowledge present on this board, I get kinda pissed. I just listened to Dan Burton on CNBC. He doesn't have a clue regarding the facts. He just wants Clinton's head and seems willing to start another cold war to do it. He and Newt don't want Bill to go to China. What should we do? Not talk to the Chinese anymore, don't trade with them, flex our muscle and tell them we might Nuke them someday? Give me a break. The best deterant to a war is to help them increase thier standard of living. The great phillosopher Jimmy Buffet said it best when he said give the commies dollar bills and Victoria Secret catalogues. They will ship the dollars back to us in exchange for crotchless underwear and we will have world peace! Sorry again about the political rant but, adrenaline is taking over. Incidently, there is no god or we would have hit 25 today and I would have got another 1,000 shares. |
