<<You might see a gap up tomorrow if the market is good.>>
Ken, I've long ago given up trying to outguess the market. There are so many cross-currents affecting this market that I'm just happy to select a few value stocks with good fundamentals and keeping my fingers crossed that some unforseen disaster doesn't occur. I'm confident that what I own (mostly telecommunication and offshore drilling companies) will do well within a reasonable time framework.
Nextel should be worth much more today because of its phenomenal growth, management, consistent excellent quarterly reports, future plans, great product, etc, etc, etc, but its "worth" what investors are willing to pay for it. I don't believe in the efficient market theory, and am willing to wait for the price to catch up to the value. Whether Dell goes up tomorrow because it exceeded its earnings expectations, or goes down because it was not as good as the whisper numbers, is just noise. Nextel is flourishing and I see it continuing to flourish for the forseeable future. Patience will be rewarded.
Enough of this long winded post. GO NEXTEL! (Daddy wants to fly.)
