I am a small Aquasol shareholder but it occurs to me the recent price drop in NIR could be attributable in part to larger Aquasol shareholders selling NIR short, based upon the fact they'll soon be getting very cheap shares in the company, presuming the merger goes through as indicated in the April press release. It could be a 'Sell now, before the 6,000,000 new shares flood the market' mentality at work. I have to admit, I considered doing that myself but am intrigued by NIR's longer-term potential. Many of us bought the privately-offered Aquasol shares at 20 cents each four years ago and when the company didn't take off, we believed our money to be lost. This deal is, indeed, 'found money' and I'm sure many fellow investors are taking the windfall and running. I have no information to back this up but I'm of the opinion that once the market absorbs the new shares and all the Aquasol people (at least those who don't want to be a part of NIR) have fled, the price will resume its march upward.
