BW DEFENDER SHOWS WELL

CALGARY, May 20 /CNW/ - BW Technologies Ltd. (BWT-ASE) new four gas
monitor, the BW Defender, has been enthusiastically received at the American
Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exhibition which was held last week in
Atlanta, Georgia. Delegates were impressed by the number of features
incorporated in the compact, economical unit.
BWT, a Calgary-based manufacturer, developed the BW Defender as a low
priced instrument for the detection of dangerous levels of carbon monoxide,
hydrogen sulphide, combustible gases and oxygen deficiency or enrichment. The
development has been successful as the unit sells at a level which is 25% to
50% below comparable, competitive units.
Shell Canada's Larry Zutz - a Health & Safety member and Craftsman 1 in
that company's instrumentation department - says, ''Most other multi-gas
detectors come in well over the $2,000 mark, but the BWT product is under
$1,200. We get continuous, 24-hour use per day from the batteries and it fits
in a pocket''.
Cody Slater, BWT's President and CEO states, ''the BW Defender has
quickly gained market share and it is now our second best revenue generator''.
