Not necessary Norm.
No need to be sorry, in many respects your right about productivity and profits being important. I just tried to highlight the pain involved by putting in on a personal level. I'm sorry too, I really would not wish harm on others.
Some 20, 30 years ago, pension plans, lifetime employment, were being touted by corporations. Many lived a life style reflecting this security, perhaps saving less than prudent. One had to be there to understand this mentality, this sense of security. Management pushed it, employees bought into it.
Some want to ignore that covenant. Productivity is fine, its necessary; but if its corporate america's intention to turn America into a 'sweatshop' in the interest of profits, in the interest of being able to compete on a global scale, I say go to plan 'B'. In that regard, if management in conjunction with government, dosen't deliver a better solution then 'chop and sweat' - Well as Ross says, THIS IS OUR COUNTRY PEOPLE.
You have not hit a raw nerve. I just don't think helping workers gain more control over their work situation and salarys is something that will be achieved by speaking with a 'hat in hand' tone. Evidently this shows up more amongst this investment talk.
In speaking up I am trying to do right by America. We should all speak our minds, state our opinions. You did.
My son in law is a ceo. Do we get along????
Answer - of course.
Best regards Bob
