Hello Gerry...All...
Just back from Frankfurt. I hate the fact that I had to drive myself <<GG>> @ least I could test one of my cars, a Ferrari GT 456 on a 600 km range @ high speed low level flight...<<<better if there weren't so much assholes on the roads>>>. Remember - Germany's highways r still mostly unlimited.
OK, here we go: Frankfurt, center city, "Frankfurter Hof" Steigenberger Hotel, an old, big building with all the things one expects from a luxury hotel. Salon 1 + 2 reserved for our beloved TRBD. Tables nicely prepared for lunch.
Halimi, Singleton, Hofbauer, Kitzinski , and a couple of app. 25 guys (yes, there was a lady as well ;) sitting around that big table. Time 12 am.
Mr.Singleton started with a complete introduction of the company. WE know all these facts already, but it's always nice to resume all the facts... So I could enjoy my lunch while listening.
Prof.Hofbauer was next...this guy is incredible, believe me. Top of the list sotospeak. Like a "Professor", he talked about different types of alternative drives, "destroying" one after another brilliantly...I should have recorded what he said to write it here.
Furthermore, he mentioned a "Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles", run by 6 (six) U.S.Departments and GM, Chrysler, Ford etc. ...and they have asked him to add his knowledge from decades of experience and to join as an advisor. Very important: PNGV has chosen (out of several) to only develop the direct injection diesel engine ! All the other competitors, even the diesel hybrid (diesel engine + additional electric drive/batteries) did not make it.
etc.etc.- positive vibration -
Discussion afterwards brought up nothing we do not know already. (or expect).
Conclusion of a long speech -> (NOT my opinion only...) this company is on a straight way to SUCCESS. Even the naysayers changed their mind.
Two researchs are available:
1) Investmentbank Austria (brandnew) short/long term buy 2) Value Management Research (May 4) speculative buy
Guess what: Events like this always bring up requests for a 98/99 estimate, right ? No direct answers BUT: strong strong optimism.
I forgot to mention: @ 2 pm the board had to say goodbye, coz they had a date with...who knows ;)
Before I bore u with all this stuff, I guess I shall let u go now - only this: it's gonna be a HOT SUMMER
