Now, Sam:o)
You know what a stickler I am about getting history as close to the facts as possible. In a post at 7AM(when do ya sleep8-)today you stated in the 2nd sentence "This nation was founded on getting away from state & catholicism."
Granted the founding fathers were declaring our independence from an opressive mother country-England; but, catholicism was not the state religion there at the time. Anglicanism was and is today.
As, no doubt you know, Henry VIII broke away from Rome in the l600s(?) in order to divorce his lst wife(Catherine of Aragon) and marry Anne Boleyn. Of course, once ole Henry had taken that major step, he proceeded to marry wife #3, then 4, and so on........
Remember we have to keep the total of all religious history in mind. Its principal objective at the time was keeping social order. All religions can be criticized and I'm sure all of them have good points.
Just wanted to make the point that its important to get historical timelines accurate. Hope you agree.
