*AV*--It's only the microarchitecture for the underlying chipset and not the processor itself. I do not think they want to get into a MSFT type situation. They have more to lose if Justice goes after them. And yes, it does look like "greenmail" of sorts to avoid issues down the road. Of more interest to me were the follow on related articles mentioned on the bottom of this story. Good reading.
