My own guess is that one will open in about 3 years (allowing for environmental hearings and issue of permits), probably in the Fort a la Corne area, although most parts of Saskatchewan, which are underlained by Archean cratonic areas that have been stable for over 2500 million years, are considered to be favorable ground for diamond exploration. A lot of work has been done at FAC since 1992.

The kimberlite bodies at FAC are reported to be tabular to mushroom shaped and have been protected from erosion by platform sediments. They range in size from 1.7 to 74 ha which places some of them amongst the largest in the world.
