bryan--

i look at buybacks from the perspective of a shareholder who wants the company to put money to good use instead of piling it up. if it has to be returned to shareholders, a buyback is a pretty good way to do it.

what i am looking at are the ops numbers, which for me are extremely positive given the competitive environment in the industry. HWP whines, while DELL does.

the only thing that worries me about DELL is the lack of consumer products in the sub-1k price range. yes, it is lower margin, but it is a space where DELL needs to be. i guess thats why i will probably hold my CPQ longer than DELL.

good luck to all,
trey
