John, I don't understand how you got this number. It looks like about a 20% drop to me. How are you doing the math?

I'd be delighted to hear that bookings January-April are down only a few points, but I do want to point out that the news on the front end is a little lower, and the figures from VLSI are considerably grimmer.

On the other hand, there is some ray of hope in the high shipment rate for April and concomitant tiny drop in total bookings. Let's hope the figure for bookings is actually holding fairly steady -- if so, the BTB at least ought to pop back up as soon as shipments slow. Let's get the bad earnings out of the way.

In other news, I saw today that SFAM has trimmed its workforce by 12%.
