Are we having fun yet?

Nice price action today. Maybe not nirvana yet but IDT showed some strength.

The WinChip has relatively weak (compared to Pentium and competitors uPs) FP and MMX capability. Henry's plan was to target the capabilities toward the business class customer. I think he did a fine job of that. He also provided a small, simplified design that was comparatively very easy to mfg. It wasn't his fault that IDTI couldn't produce many of them (only 200k so far). (To Perham; Get mad, kick some butt and get production ramped!!!).

I bought a bit today - first time since it was around 15.

I still think that IDT, AMD and NSM need to ask "What does the market realy need at this juncture?" If the Three Musketeers (Banditos?) put together enhanced internet server capability similar to what Intel is offering through NetCom and others (http://www.intel.com/quickweb/index.htm), even if it is external to the uP, and give it away, the market will react favorably. Give it away for free for ISPs who paste the constortium's logo on their web site. Do it under the purvue of IEEE if needed.
