Jack, Novell Shareholders Will Eventually Make Money!

I believe you are right-Novell is a long way from dead. In fact, Novell reminds me of Lotus in that at Lotus's low stock price--everyone thought Borland was going to crush Lotus because of Borland's Quattro Pro-- well look at Borland now and Lotus shareholders did well in the end. Now, investors are concerned that Microsoft will bury Novell!! Novell has an excellent installed base--that in itself has a lot of value. Novell has an excellent balance sheet with very little debt and a good cash position. And by any measure--Novell's stock price is a bargain relative to many other software stocks.Only a few months ago Smith Barney Brokerage put out a very positive report on Novell-- it looked at Novell as a significant turnaround story that has already started. Novell's stock price has been hurt recently because of fiscal year end window dressing by the mutual funds (Oct 31st), and by recent double witching activity involving options and futures expiration ( this past week).Once year end tax loss selling is out of the way--you will see an improvement in Novell's stock price.
