Gentlemen;

If the broadcast news here is accurate Suharto's resignation is an hour away and thus begins a long, arduous, and painful crawl towards democracy in my opinion. I now believe that what has happened in Indonesia has not been a case of lawless elements simply using an excuse to ramapge. For example, the exchange was temporarily disrupted a few days ago. In the midst of a brief rally, the beleagured brokers left their post to join a protest demanding Suharto's resignation. When brokers walk away from a chance to generate income, in order to voice there political opinion with voices long hoarse and tentative from disuse, then perhaps we should see a signal of an underlying swell of demand such as Indonesia has not seen before. Can it ever be the same again?
