JP,

Good Job HERE on the DELL analysis, but just one question, now.

As I recall, the 'other' manufacturers reported 'not so good' to 'crappy' quarters, while DELL performed 'as expected', actually beating the estimate by 2 cents.

It is true that the others had/have channels to 'dump' and I think that that will be done sometime this next Q. Once that happens, and all of the 'cheap' machines are accounted for, doesn't the 'playing field' become level again? At that time won't CPQ, HWP and IBM have to start 'making' money? Won't the sale of sub $1K units raise # sold number, but since the ASP is lower, the profit lower?

As for the 10G drive, I remember when 30Meg was 'all anyone could ever use!'

The technology is continuously changing, and DELL (imho) will change to meet the challenge.

Regards,

Ken
