Loral Space (LOR; 18 5/8, +1/4) Loral Space is one of my favorite long-term plays. It holds a leadership position in its satellite businesses. Management is truly awesome. CEO built Loral into defense powerhouse from basically scratch. Before selling the defense units to Lockheed Martin, Loral posted years and years on consistent growth. Satellite communications will be a growth area over the forseeable future since developing countries need for wireless communications. It costs thousands to install a basic phone line in Brazil, and takes years to wait for; people buy wireless instead. Philip
