Today a friend suggested I check out the following website:
att.com
He then said to click on "one rate on line. . ."
There, I was given several choices so I clicked on "frequently asked questions."
If you read through "how will I be billed," you'll see they have it set up for credit card billing, however, AT&T calculates 55% of their customers won't use credit cards online and they have another plan in place. Once it's fully operational, they'll add it to their selections and put ikons on ever web engine they've signed on: Excite, Yahoo, Lycos, and InfoSeek.
As an investor in CheckFree, it's some times painful to watch the step-by-step process of building a company from scratch. A few decades ago, those who invested in railroads had no way of watching as each tie was set in place and each rail laid. They stayed in Boston and New York and Philadelphia and gave parties and went to horse races and sailed the nearby lakes.
Imagine if they'd had the Internet. They'd have written email to everyone at every junction along the route, asking them to check up on progress. I would imagine more than a few engineers would have shot back some mighty strange looks. "You want to know what????
This is all by way of saying the people I know are doing their jobs and one of these days we'll hear more about it.
Wake me when it's time for Champagne.
