Bart, you're still stuck on two things about SW -- technology and management. First, technology alone doesn't guarantee success. Apparently SW had at one time a great stable of programmers. So why didn't SW do well? Because of the crappy management right? As I recall, the previous prez, Walchek, basically wrote a blank check to promote these great entertainment products. What happened? Not deep enough pockets? All the kids didn't appreciate the great technology? Okay, management. All the previous ENTERTAINMENT management is gone. Chairman, prez, vp sales (current sales chief is from education side), CFO. What? Charlotte Walker, one board member was responsible for the catastrophe all by herself? SW's problem has been that it doesn't have enough money. It probably still doesn't, but it certainly couldn't contend then and it can't contend now in the entertainment title market. So in fact, Walker is remembering the past and has decided not to repeat it by pursuing a strategy in entertainment that has no chance of winning. With the education titles, they have a better chance. Maybe they won't succeed -- the market's littered with failed companies. Maybe they will, and shareholders that have gotten in lately will do great and those that got "suckered" in long ago will make some losses back.
