I agree with Mason -- this is bad for MS and it cannot be good for the stock price.

IMO paying researchers with options is tantamount to bribery, and it ought to be made illegal. And hiding the payments only makes matters worse. To say it reflects poorly on the moral character of management is only to state the glaringly obvious.

I doubt that the Bloomberg story will be the last. This is the kind of story that every business news organization will want to chew over. I look for editorials, as well.

In the end the Wand will sell itself or not, based on the real-world experience of users and not on any studies. But this ethical blunder by MS management will not help that process, and plays into the hands of the shorts. All IMO.
