The upward revision is 12% higher than the previous estimate for the fourth qtr. If MRV did earn .14 in Q4, then the total 96 eps would be .45 which means the stock is now trading close to 40x '96 earnings. Is this low , high or just right? 3Com trades at a pe of 41 Fore System at a pe of 88 Cisco System at a pe of 42 Ascend Comm at a pe of 82 Seems like it's either 40 or 80. I don't know what that means if any- thing. But ever since the Shiva/ASND news Investors Business Daily is posting graphs of the networking stocks. See the 4 mentioned above in Friday's "Your Weekend Graphic Review". IBD will usually focus on a group that they feel is poised for an upward move... Hope so. I wonder if Hampshire has also increased 1997 earnings estimates?
