I said in a previous post that I am mentally prepared for additional delays in the schedule simply due to Murphy's Law. I am a retired engineer and this is engineering work going on here.

There are two kinds of managers. One kind sets a milestone schedule and then does whatever it takes to meet that schedule. The other does a job right the first time, no matter what that does to the schedule.

Working 12 hour days is one thing, I've done that a lot and it's no big deal as long as it doesn't last too long. But doing things that cause damage that has to be fixed some time in the future is another.

I don't think our Bill Carraway is the kind of manager that says, "There isn't time to do the job right the first time, but there is plenty of time and money to fix the mess we made some time in the future."

He wisely held up pouring the cement until the weather cleared up. Suppose he didn't wait and then after all the assembly was done and the process was started up, the whole thing had to be shut down and undone while the concrete had to be removed and repoured.

The manager who meets schedules regardless of damage is the manager who fails. The manager who carefully thinks things through is the manager who succeeds.

I haven't sunk rent money into GRNO. I am perfectly willing to wait days or weeks to ensure that we have a quality operation here that will make everybody proud.

Charles
