My understanding is that MMX will be available for the Pro via the Klamath project in new packaging in 3Q96 -- the new packaging allowing Intel to directly sell dual uP upgrades. In any case, when I posted earlier it wasn't to dump on SGI or to say Intel/Microsoft are about to threaten their high-end business. It was only to call out that the deceptive practices that some were saying that Intergraph engaged in were not exactly unknown in the rest of the industry -- including SGI. SGI still has dominant high-end graphics products -- but I can tell you that it is HELL doing business with them (at least for us). No matter how good SGI's products, I'd never invest in them until I believed that they had cleaned up the rest of the company -- outside of development.
