However, with a Unix-class OS running Mac software, Apple could seize a lot of this market: at the expense of current workstations and future NT machines. This is a high margin area, and a place where performance matters more than conformity. I completely agree. I have no doubt that Steve and the NeXTians who took over Apple plan to compete in this market. I remember reading in a SunWorld (?) article about Rhapsody last year that they see that OS competing directly with Solaris. And every Unix developer I know is very interested in Rhapsody. This is a very real, very profitable future market for Apple. rhet0ric
