I wouldn't go so far as to say Milestone's actions are morally deficient or anything. Look at it from their perspective -- short of cash, they have an instrument they think works, and the only way they can get an expert evaluation is with stock options. I just think it hurts in the marketplace perception, since these studies have been their strongest point of reference to prove that the product is salable in the long run.
This doesn't affect how well the product actually works, but it makes it more difficult to convince people than if they had an unbiased study published somewhere. The ADA seal will help some, but what they need is an INDEPENDENT evaluation of the product.
