The fact that C*/Skybridge will be up and running in 2001 was touched on by Doug, but bears repeating. Throw in some FCC delay and that gap may widen. Did everyone see that the experimental Teledesic sat is not functioning properly? I don't know who said it, but GEOs ARE essential in this type of system. Someone said they were not needed. That is untrue. Point to multipoint, multicasting, media delivery, etc. all are best served by GEOs. How did I know that Dragonfly would jump on this immediately as a proponent of Teledesic---capacity comments already? Save it for 5 years from now.
