"Who said something about low capacity?"

It was Doug. :)

cyberstar.com :
"CyberStar provides a wide variety of affordable applications and content, using satellites to deliver information at up to 27Mbps to multiple locations simultaneously."

verses: teledesic.com
"The Teledesic Network is designed to support millions of simultaneous users. Most users will have two-way connections that provide up to 64 Mbps on the downlink and up to 2 Mbps on the uplink. Broadband terminals will offer 64 Mbps of two-way capacity."

and from cyberstar.com :
"Geostationary systems are well suited for the delivery of broadcast and a large variety of asymmetric services. Low-earth-orbit systems, due to their inherent very low propagation time, are very efficient for the delivery of highly interactive services. "

Capacity calculations:
Teledesic 500Mbps * 288 = 144,000 Mbps
Skybridge 864Mbps * 64 = 55,296 Mbps (only 27,648 in 2001, though)

Dragonfly, who's had it arguing capacity with people who don't back up their numbers.
