Charles, I will stick by my IQX numbers (100, 800, 800). As they mentioned in the conference call last qtr, they had about $2 million worth of equipment that was out on evaluation that they expected to book in the 4th qtr. Some of this was GigaMux and some was IQX equipment. A bunch of the evaluations in the IQX were said to have converted into sales in Feb, hence the jump in February IQX sales. In addition, I was told from someone actually at the ISP show in DC or Baltimore (can't recall which location) in the first qtr, that they actually sold 8 - 10 boxes at the show. This was subsequently confirmed by another independent source. With an average selling price of $15k, that would translate into 120k - 150k alone, which is half of what he is saying was sold for whole qtr.
Ozzie_Dilbert has some excellent insight into what is going on, but this issue is the one (probably the only) item we disagree on.
Regardless, they made a lot of progress in the first quarter as far as getting the VAR channel established and prepared for the IQX. I believe they mentioned at the NYC conference call that they now had 50 VARS ready to sell at the end of the qtr vs the 15 they had at the beginning. |
