Turboe you are absolutely right about educating children about guns, but you never know about their friends or if someone is going to steal your guns. Why not keep locks on the gun but teach the code to your kids? This way you are protected against uneducated kids and thieves getting hold of your weapons. I have never owned a gun but do believe we have the right to have them for hunting or protection but with this comes the responsibility of ownership. Just like a car's emergency brake and seat belt. They are there but you don't have to use them.
